CAFHA Membership Meeting
This is the regular meeting of the CAFHA membership. Every even-numbered month the membership meets to share news, discuss strategy, network, and listen to a speaker on topics of interest.
This month, Marva Williams of the LISC Chicago will talk about the New Communities Program, including information on how these programs have enhanced quality of life in these neighborhoods.
Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) is a national non-profit intermediary that provides financial and technical assistance to community-based organizations, public agencies and private (for-profit) entities focused on the redevelopment of urban neighborhoods and rural communities. The Chicago program works with over 80 such groups throughout the metropolitan area to develop affordable multi-family and senior housing, homeownership opportunities, commercial enterprises, community facilities and various community-building programs in such areas as employment, day care, health care and open space.
