Membership Application

Thanks for your interest in membership in the Chicago Area Fair Housing Alliance. Our membership form is only available to registered users of this site; this helps us control spam and keep track of our applicants.

Once you apply for membership online, a CAFHA director or staffer will contact you to coordinate finalizing your application and paying your annual membership dues. The dues schedule is as follows (see definitions of membership categories below):

Full Member Non-Profit Agencies
Annual Budget less than $200,000: $100.00
Annual Budget of $200,000 and over: $200.00

Full Member Governmental Bodies
Population of less than 50,000: $100.00
Population of 50,000 and over: $200.00

Associate Members
Non-profit agencies, individuals and educational institutions: $100.00
Professional associations and corporations: $300.00

 

 


Membership Categories as Defined by the By-Laws:

Full Membership: Full members shall be voting members entitled to representation upon committees as appointed by the Chair.

Not-for-Profit Agencies: Agencies whose purposes and programs further fair housing through investigation, enforcement, education, advocacy and/or counseling.
Government. Public tax-supported agencies of local, state or federal government, that have an actively funded and staffed program to assure fair housing practices.

Associate Membership: Associate members shall be non-voting members; however, such members shall be entitled to representation upon committees, as appointed by the Chair, in order to review and recommend to the Board of Directors items or issues of particular concern or interest.

Not-for-Profit Agencies, Educational Institutions, Corporations, Individuals, Professional Associations, Units of Government, etc: This membership category is for entities that are ineligible for full membership in that they are not a not-for-profit agency or otherwise do not meet the definition under Full Membership, but that nevertheless have or promote fair housing interests.
